In 2018, we revamped our scholarship program in response to the changing times. We introduced the Northwest Education Fund, a scholarship program tailored to supporting the evolving needs of today’s students. Today, we are thrilled to announce the first recipient of a new and improved Northwest Education Fund scholarship.
From all of us here at Northwest, a big congratulations to Ms. Alyssa Daubney!
Alyssa is the daughter of Northwest’s Operations Supervisor, Malcolm Daubney, and she is in her final year of a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. Alyssa impressed us with her passion and commitment to the field and her insightful commentary on crime and its causes in the modern age. She will be undertaking an internship at the Missing Children Society of Canada as part of her last year of studies. This internship lines up with her goal to ensure our communities and our children stay safe, and to spread awareness for a tragic issue that is often overlooked: human trafficking.
We found much to admire in Alyssa’s compassion and keen perception of difficult issues. Her determination to make a difference in this world can serve as an example to us all. We wish Alyssa all the best in her final year of study, and we have no doubt that wherever her career takes her, she will indeed make a difference.
Join us in congratulating Alyssa on her achievements!
