With every new year, comes an updated view and analysis of the industry and 2020 is no different. Across the board, the big 3 factors that are influencing the world of bulk transportation are: Driver Hiring and Retention, Safety and Insurance and Technology. What may have just now, come into focus for the industry in 2020, have always been a core value for Northwest Tank Lines since 1955 and is one of the main reasons we’re celebrating the Northwest 65th Anniversary this year.
As founding members of TransCAER and participants of numerous road safety initiatives such as Responsible Care, we’re proud to say that our drivers have the best and most up-to-date training on the road.
Along with Safety, Northwest Tank Lines is continually investing in our quality driven partnerships with organizations like Maxfield and Peterbilt to ensure that our drivers are on the road with the absolute best equipment available.
Over the past 10 years, Northwest has invested over $43 Million into new tankers and tanker safety technology, including our satellite tracking, dashboard and in-cab cameras – all to help make our drivers safer and make sure they get home to their families at the end of the day.
As Northwest grows, so does our extended family and the number of communities that we live, work and play in. Over the past 10 years, we have contributed over $1.25 Million into programs and charities that have a direct impact in our communities and for our families. From purchasing specialized equipment for Neonatal Intensive Care Units in local hospitals, to supporting programs that provide people with disabilities the opportunity to connect, grow and belong, to our scholarship program that provides Northwest families the opportunity to support continued education for their children, to our support of the Canadian Cancer Society and their Breast Cancer research initiatives.
Our values have always been part of the competitive edge that Northwest has enjoyed when attracting and retaining the best drivers in the industry and now more than ever, our values will help shape our success as we celebrate the Northwest 65th Anniversary and many more to come.
The Northwest Way of doing things has established a 65-year track record of Safety, Quality and Service Excellence, and are key to our mission of being the North American tank truck company, by which all others are measured.
